When the Enterprise was filmed for STAR TREK's first pilot, 'The Cage', it was subtly different. Roddenberry and the ships designer Matt Jefferies upgraded the model before the series went into production.  The Eaglemoss model of the early version has antenna on the front of the nacelles, a larger deflector and a grid pattern at the back of the nacelles rather than the spheres. It is just over 5" (13 cm) long.
