In the episode 'First Flight' we learned that before Captain Archer took command of the Enterprise, he was a test pilot who was working on the NX project. The NX-Alpha was an experimental vessel that was the first Earth ship to fly faster than Warp 2.5. The ship was designed by John Eaves who gave it echoes of Zefram Chochrane's ship The Phoenix. The Eaglemoss model is 4.3" (11 cm) long.
