When Wesely Crusher was at Starfleet Academy, he was part of the prestigious Nova Squadron, an elite flying team that flew demonstrations in small training ships. In 'The First Duty' the team is involved in an accident that kills one of their members, which they then try to cover up. Nova Squadron used these maneuverable vessels which were designed by Rick Sternbach and built by Greg Jein. The model is just over 4.25" (11 cm) long.
