The original version of the U.S.S. Dauntless appeared in the VOYAGER episdoe 'Hope and Fear', where it appeared to offer the crew a way home. It was actually an alien ship that was posing as a futuristic Starfleet vessel. Intriguingly, Starfleet then introduced ships that looked very similar, culminating in a different but related design that featured on PRODIGY. It was designed by Rick Sternbach who wanted to make it look capable of great speeds. The Eaglemoss model is 5.5"  (14 cm) long
