The U.S.S. Excelsior was introduced in STAR TREK III to show Kirk and the cew of the Enterprise that their ship was getting old and was about to be replaced with a new and advanced model. The Excelsior would eventually become Sulu's ship and play a major role in establishing peace with the Klingons. The model measures 5.25" (13.5 cm) long.
