STAR TREK III introduced us to the U.S.S. Excelsior - a Starfleet ship that was meant to make the Enterprise look old and outdated. Legendary concept artist Nilo Rodis came up with several alternative designs, none of which ended up being used. But ILM's Bill George made study models of three of them, and these were among the ships seen at the Qualor II shipyards. The model is 5.3" (13.5 cm) long.
