After it was introduced in STAR TREK III, the Excelsior went on to become Captain Sulu's ship, appearing in STAR TREK VI and the Voyager episode 'Flashback'. Excelsior-class ships also made frequent appearances on TNG and DS9. This is the XL version which is 10.6" (27 cm) long.
