MASTER REPLICAS – THIRD ANNIVERSARY EVENT
April marks three years since the relaunch of Master Replicas, and we want to start this update by saying thank you.
Over the past three years, we have worked across some of the most iconic science fiction universes ever created, collaborating with designers, artists, and production veterans to bring authentic, respectful replicas to collectors around the world.
Over the coming week, we will be sharing special announcements, behind the scenes insight, and previews of what is coming next as Master Replicas continues to grow.

A first look at what’s coming next month
May is shaping up to be a strong month across several franchises.
Here are a few early highlights.
Recreating the D Bridge
Launching May
One of the most detailed Star Trek™ production books ever published is arriving in May.
Recreating the D Bridge tells the inside story of the rebirth of one of Star Trek™’s most beloved sets: the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 D, which made an emotional return in Star Trek™: Picard.
Art director Liz Kloczkowski documents how the art department tracked down every available reference and, working with an army of skilled craftspeople and Star Trek™ veterans, rebuilt the bridge in immaculate detail.
The book features:
- Hundreds of rare behind the scenes photographs
- Original concept art and blueprints
- Detailed insight into layout, materials, lighting, and construction
With forewords by Terry Matalas and Dave Blass, and an afterword by original The Next Generation production designer Herman Zimmerman, this is a definitive archival release.

Battlestar Galactica – Battlestar Columbia
LIMITED EDITION
The Battlestar Galactica fleet is expanding.
Launching in May, Battlestar Columbia joins the Master Replicas Battlestar Galactica Ships collection as a limited edition release. Columbia has long been one of the most requested Battlestars, and this release has been designed to sit seamlessly alongside Galactica and the wider Colonial fleet.

PRODUCT FOCUS
THE BRASS DALEK & INTERVIEW WITH MIKE TUCKER
Introduced last month, the Brass Dalek represents one of the most substantial Doctor Who collectibles we have ever produced.
This extraordinary model depicts the Dalek that survived the Time War and confronted the Ninth Doctor in April 2005. Sculpted by renowned Dalek expert Gavin Rymill and cast entirely in solid brass, the piece combines screen heritage with uncompromising materials.
Key details include:
- Strictly limited to 150 individually numbered pieces
- Magnetic attachments for the manipulator arm, gun, and eyestalk
- Fully sculpted base
- Height: 195 mm
- Weight: 1.785 kg
Following the announcement of the Brass Dalek, we were able to share the piece with Mike Tucker, the man responsible for building the first of the “new” Daleks for Doctor Who’s 2005 return.
After praising the attention to detail on the Brass Dalek, Mike shared insight into the origins of the full size Bronze Dalek:
“I was already working on the new series of Doctor Who doing the model work when the subject of the new look Daleks came up. Although not really under my remit as Model Unit Supervisor, Russell T Davies was keen to give the job to someone who had some experience of working with the Daleks before.”
A lifelong fan of the show, Mike grew up watching the Pertwee and Baker eras, before later working on the ‘classic’ series during the Sylvester McCoy period. That mix of fandom and hands on experience helped ensure the new Dalek respected its roots while evolving its design.
Working from concept art by Matt Savage, Mike arranged for a classic Dalek to be brought into his workshop so production designer Edward Thomas could decide which elements should be retained and which should change.
“The concept art was really well thought out, so we just had to make that work as a three dimensional object.”
Despite their now iconic bronze finish, the first Daleks were built under intense time pressure. With less than three weeks to meet the deadline, two fan built 1960s style Daleks were purchased and adapted, rather than creating a new skirt mould from scratch.
For the episode “Dalek”, multiple versions were constructed: a damaged and battered Dalek, a clean version using parts from the first, and a further version designed to open and reveal the creature inside. While predominantly fibreglass, the originals incorporated plastic and aluminium parts throughout.
That production lineage makes the Brass Dalek replica a fitting tribute, celebrating both the return of the Daleks in 2005 and the craftsmanship that brought them back to life.
BEHIND THE SCENES – MAKING THE SHIPS
Ever wondered how our Starship Library ships are made?
These behind the scenes videos take you onto the factory floor, showing:
- Hand assembly and gluing of individual components
- Precision injection moulding, where molten plastic is forced into metal tooling at extreme pressure
- Pad printing using soft silicone stamps, applying ultra fine panels, textures, windows, and registry markings to complex 3D surfaces
- Batch hand spraying and contoured paint masking, creating crisp paint edges and colour detail

FRANCHISE NEWS ROUNDUP
Star Trek™
Star Trek™’s 60th anniversary year continues with strong momentum:
- Star Trek™: Strange New Worlds Season 4 is complete and expected later this year
- Season 5 has been confirmed as the final chapter
- Multiple Star Trek™ film projects remain in active development
- The Master Replicas Starship Library continues to expand throughout the year, find out more
Stargate
The new Stargate series for Prime Video is now firmly in pre production.
Confirmed creative talent includes:
- Nathan Crowley, production designer (Interstellar, Dunkirk)
- Mohen Leo, VFX lead (Rogue One, The Martian)
Showrunner Martin Gero has confirmed the series will respect existing canon rather than rebooting the franchise.
Battlestar Galactica
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes has been announced as a new tactical, story driven roguelite for PC, set immediately after the fall of the Twelve Colonies.
The Expanse
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is shaping up to be the most ambitious game set in the universe to date.
Launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, a closed beta begins 22 April 2026, with full release planned for spring 2027.

The two recovered 1965 episodes from The Daleks’ Master Plan are now available to stream on BBC iPlayer, renewing informed hope that further missing material may still exist.
